We would like to inform about some changes from last year:
The scholarships for South Africa (SISSA) will be included in the larger Scholarships for Global Professionals programme, starting from this year’s round. Like before, the scholarships are intended for full-time master’s level studies starting in the autumn semester.
SI is also implementing some changes in its operations for Turkey due to the new strategy “Sweden’s reform cooperation with the Western Balkans and Turkey 2021–2027”, which calls for a clear focus on human rights, democracy, the rule of law and gender equality. With the changed focus, SI will no longer offer master’s scholarships for applicants from Turkey. Instead, working with communication and capacity-building efforts to contribute to change, and continuing efforts aimed at people who live and are active in Turkey, will be prioritized moving forward. This decision has no effect on the students awarded scholarships in the spring of 2021.
