Step by step manual

  1. Plan your event – would you like to do just a social media campaign or an online or physical seminar on the topic? It is ok to use one or all of the building blocks.
  2. If you are doing seminars, make a selection of the seminars you think will attract your target group. A list of available seminars can be found under “Building Blocks” below.
  3. If you are interested in doing a physical seminar one option (not required) is to do it in collaboration with your local Swedish Embassy/Consulate or other partner organisation since it requires a venue.
  4. Apply for funding from SI, if relevant.
  5. Use the prepared social media posts under Communication material for each seminar to create own postings on social media channels of your choice (e.g. Facebook, Instagram). For this you can use author photos. If you are doing a social media campaign only, decide whether you wish to share the material following a set schedule (for instance one post per day, or three posts in a week), or if you prefer a more improvised approach.
  6. If you haven’t already, inform your contact person at the Swedish Embassy about your event.
  7. Create a page for your event so that people can register.
  8. Post your event in the Sweden Alumni Activity Calendar.
  9. Send invitations to your members. If you need help with reaching out to new members, get in touch with the alumni team at SI who can help sending an email to their contacts.
  10. Have your event!
  11. Send in the report to SI, not more than two weeks after the event.
