New SI programme will strengthen relations between Sweden and Russia

Is your organisation looking for a chance to carry out a youth-centred project with a partner in Russia? Are you interested in strengthening the local ties between Sweden and Russia in fields which engage youth and young adults? The Swedish Institute’s New Partnerships Initiative could be just what you were waiting for.

The New Partnerships Initiative (NPI) grants funding to collaborative projects carried out by partners in Sweden and Russia. The aim of the programme is to strengthen and expand relations between the two countries. Annual open calls will be held during the period 2022‒2024.

Applications should involve youth or young adults in both countries. They should also include adults who work directly with young people or are responsible for policies which concern them. Projects should centre on issues which engage this target group in Sweden and Russia.

“We are very pleased to be able to launch a brand new programme which specifically aims to strengthen relations between young people in Sweden and Russia. We hope NPI will result in conversations, exchanges and lasting contacts around issues of common interest,” says Åsa Lundmark, head of the Scholarships and Project Funding Unit.

The first call for applications will open on 17 March and close on 19 May. We look forward to receiving your applications.
