GMUAEU: Best practices of Swedish Gender Mainstreaming As A Tool for Empowering Ukrainian Women to Drive Sustainable Reforms and Facilitate EU Integration in Ukraine

The project aims to utilise Swedish gender mainstreaming as a tool to empower Ukrainian women to drive sustainable reforms and facilitate EU integration.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has diverted the state’s resources and society’s attention towards military defence. Challenges include the multiple ways the war has damaged women’s rights, where gender stereotypes of men-as-defenders and women-as-protected has caused a notable decrease in female representation in media and public administration.

Through the project, Ukrainian stakeholders and agents of change will gain increased knowledge of best practices of Swedish gender mainstreaming and tools ready-to-use in the Ukrainian context. Activities include the creation of a platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation.
