Get involved in the future of the Baltic Sea region

This year's forum for the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region is being held in Sweden. Over three days in October, you can participate in important discussions about how the countries around the Baltic Sea can jointly address the region's challenges and also support Ukraine. On October 29, the Swedish Institute (SI) is organizing a side event to engage target groups from the local level, civil society, youth organizations, the business sector and Ukraine.

The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region aims to deepen cooperation between the countries around the Baltic Sea to collectively tackle the region’s common challenges with a focus on saving sea, connecting the region, and increasing prosperity. The annual forum takes place over two days on October 30 and 31, with an optional side event on October 29, known as an Engagement Day to further increase engagement in the strategy..

SI is organizing the Engagement Day together with the Norden Association Sweden and Region Gotland focusing on widening participation, increasing engagement and attracting new stakeholders to drive the Strategy forward. This day is aimed at representatives of local and regional authorities, civil society, youth organizations, and the business sector.

Participants will have the opportunity to present their cooperation ideas thematically linked to eight Policy Areas: Bioeconomy, Culture, Education, Hazards, Health, Nutri, Secure, and Tourism. The aim is to increase the level of engagement, generate new ideas for solving the challenges of the Baltic Sea region and to foster new cooperation initiatives.

Stakeholders from Ukraine are also invited to participate, aiming to strengthen ties between the region and Ukraine and discuss collaboration opportunities.

Don’t miss this chance to contribute to the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and be part of solving the challenges of our region.

We look forward to seeing you in Visby from October 29-31!
