Media visits to Sweden are an essential part of promoting Sweden. The visits are arranged by the Swedish Institute as a response to interest from international media. In 2019, some thirty journalists will visit Sweden and attend different events.
A media visit will take place during the Stockholm Pride festival. Journalists will be able to visit the world’s first elderly home for LGBTQ-people, RFSL (The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights), meet activists, rainbow families and proud parents of LGBTQ-people, as well as institutions working against discrimination and also the Church of Sweden that has married people of the same sex since 2009.
