This space is based on the ground-breaking Room for Children project at the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm. Created in 1998, this space is constantly evolving and continues to influence child-centred initiatives in Sweden and throughout the world. Please note that all adults must be accompanied by at least one child!
The Library
Please remove your shoes, Scandinavian-style, when you come in, then make yourself comfortable in a cabin to read one of the great works of Swedish literature! Or let the books carry you away with games of exploration and fantastic puzzles and riddles. Ask the mediators to tell you how to play the Dragon’s Egg or to how to become a Word Expert…
The Workshop
This space is specially designed for budding painters, embroiderers or sculptors. Sit at your easel or use thread, paintbrushes or newspaper to create tomorrow’s masterpieces.
Mediators are on hand to guide you in this pop-up creative studio.
