Glada Hudik theatre to Georgia – receiving attention for integration of people with intellectual disabilities

Children arn’t born with prejudices is a school project that will start this autumn in five pilot schools in Georgia. Children should be guided in eight steps program to increase knowledge on how it is to live with intellectual disability with the goal to reduce stigma and exclusion.

Glada Hudik theatre involves schools and organizations with material that partly have Georgian content in the form of newly produced films, photos and interviews. People with intellectual disabilities will visit schools and tell about their lives after they have been trained in presentations techniques by Glada Hudik theatre. It will be an admirable achievement, as people with intellectual disabilities often live in exclusion and are not used to be in the center of attention.

The opinion -forming effect of Glada Hudik-theatre´s presence in the country is used in the social media. After film screening The importance of tying your own shoes participate Glada Hudik theatre’s founder and operations manager Pär Johansson and project manager Anuki Sturua in a subsequent discussion digitally.
