The purpose of the project is to establish a peer learning network for EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) officials at regional levels. The aim is twofold: i) exchange experience in the administrative work; and ii) jointly implement “difficult” measures to achieve the WFD objectives. The goals are to: i) formally establish the peer learning network; ii) define a first collaborative project; and iii) jointly prepare an EU application. The key outputs are: 1. Letter of Intents specifying purpose and tasks of the network, designated person and procedures for collaboration. 2. One submitted application document describing the rationale, project organization, budget, and result management. The partnership is composed of 12 organizations representing the public sector at regional and national levels having a WFD mandate as well as research and non-governmental organizations acting as supporting experts.
