The BALTinnoSEC project addresses cross-border collaborations between civil security actors in the Baltic Sea region.
Security threats are by nature often unpredictable. BALTinnoSEC therefore suggests that it is necessary to foster flexible capacities in the Baltic Sea region to tackle risks. There is a need for more cross-border collaborations between civil security actors. BALTinnoSEC notes that a number of civil security forums in the EU as well as in the Baltic Sea region exist. Yet, none of them are focused on innovative problem solving in the region around the Baltic Sea. Against this background, the project wants to establish a platform for civil security actors which includes experts, researchers, practitioners and businesses. The idea is to focus on innovative and practical solutions for common risks in the Baltic Sea region. For example, the participants will be able to share the latest management solutions and technologies. The activities include a kick-off meeting, an analysis of existing forums and platforms, and workshops to prepare for a pilot forum which will be tested and analyzed.
