Due to global warming, the salinity level in the coastal area’s water in Bangladesh is increasing daily. Women and girls of these areas have been suffering terribly by losing femininity or facing various diseases, like uterine infections. Many are forced to do hysterectomies early, pushing them towards another dilemma. They are abused or left by their husbands because they can no longer have children or fulfil their sexual desires. Early marriage is also widespread. Unfortunately, there is no supervision from the government.
Women Chapter International (WCI) believes that addressing this issue requires challenging the patriarchal system. Thus, WCI has adopted this pilot project to make aware youths, journalists, local authorities and beneficiaries through capacity building and networking.
