On the heels of protracted refugee migration around the world, characterised by increasing misinformation, suspicion, and negative stereotypes, this project has three aims: stimulate refugee/local integration and inclusive community-building, develop participants’ skills in digital storytelling, and increase civic participation amongst women and youth in refugee hosting districts in Uganda.
Participants from refugee and host communities will mutually benefit from trainer-led workshops, during which they will learn about the power of storytelling. Participants will produce group digital stories, in the form of mobile phone-based videos and podcasts. These stories will be showcased locally and hosted on a website, so the public can access the final media projects.
