The aim of the project is to expand an existing transnational network for social entrepreneurs in the Baltic Sea region. The network fills an identified gap for transnational networking at a regional level in the Baltic Sea region.
Social entrepreneurs often lack the time to build extensive networks but there is an inspiring and morale-boosting element in connecting with others in the field, providing access to new contacts. Given the current societal challenges such as rising inflation, the war in Ukraine, the aftermath of the pandemic, and the ongoing climate crisis, there is a need for inclusive, sustainable economic growth in Europe. Social entrepreneurs can play a crucial role for economic growth.
The project partners aspire to both broaden and deepen the network. Broadening involves increasing the number of members and enhancing external visibility. Deepening involves improving the network’s quality and diversifying the range of activities offered. This includes hosting monthly online sessions for peer learning as well as expert workshops. Other activities include setting up thematic working groups, facilitating an active online community, as well as increasing opportunities for in-person meet-ups. The project will also reach out to Danish and Ukrainian social entrepreneurs, increasing the number of countries represented in the network.
