Interdisciplinary capacity building in East Africa: RESPECT for human rights of marginalised groups

This project aims at capacity building of academic staff and postgraduate students
at Kabale University (KAB) in Uganda. Training will be offered to all staff
to promote non-authoritarian, quality research supervision at KAB. We will also
develop and implement the interdisciplinary workshop programme of “Responsible
Critical Thinking (RESPECT) for Human Rights of marginalised groups in East
Africa”, which will educate academic staff and postgraduate students within the social sciences, economics, education and environmental science.

This development is important not only for KAB, but also for the overall democratic
development in southern Uganda and its neighbouring countries.
