Achieving Zero PFAS

The project aims to take action against PFAS by facilitating cooperation and knowledge-sharing as well as coordination between stakeholders.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of chemicals that have previously been used and disposed without the awareness of its toxicity creating PFAS accumulations in nature. The identification of new PFAS and development of technical solutions is growing rapidly. However, in many countries such knowledge is still very limited.

The project will educate students and share methods for upgrading of the wastewater treatment plants as the countries face this need with an upcoming new EU Directive. A baseline and PFAS strategy will be developed.
