IMSVILL: Improving Social Values through Urban Design in Large-Scale Post-Soviet and Post-War Residential Neighbourhoods: Lessons Learned from Ukraine, Lithuania, and Sweden

The aim of the project is to start up a cooperation regarding how to improve social values through urban design, when renovating or rebuilding large scale post war and post-Soviet residential neighbourhoods.

A key urban challenge in all the participating countries is how to renovate or densify large-scale housing neighbourhoods from the 1960s and 80s in a holistic, quality way, while still providing affordable housing.

The first phase of the project will focus on exploring and learning from each country’s experiences, and the second phase will involve developing a concept for a larger project application.
