The aim of the project is to establish a police science network that will address relevant problems regionally and transnationally, including cyber-crime, cross-border crime and organised crime.
The project addresses the growing challenge of maintaining internal security in the Baltic Sea Region, which has been significantly impacted by the Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This conflict has led to increased regional instability, amplifying security threats such as cross-border crime, cyberattacks, trafficking, disinformation campaigns, and terrorism. Currently, there is a critical need for innovative, research-driven responses that integrate the latest insights from police science to help law enforcement agencies better anticipate, prevent, and respond to these security threats.
Activities include three physical meetings, each hosted by one of the partner universities, where in-depth discussions, workshops, and the development of concrete research ideas will take place.
