Queer Voices Film Festival: Strengthening Inclusive Narratives in Moldova

The project aims to counter marginalization and disinformation targeting LGBTQI+ individuals in Moldova by using queer cinema, performance, and cultural dialogue to promote inclusion, visibility, and ethical storytelling.

In a politically polarized environment, LGBTQI+ people are increasingly scapegoated and excluded from public discourse, especially during election years. Civil society remains fragmented, and media narratives often reinforce harmful stereotypes. This project addresses these issues through workshops in documentary filmmaking, performance, and media literacy, engaging youth, cultural workers, and journalists in creative activism.

Public film screenings, exhibitions, and discussions will create safe spaces for dialogue and help build alliances beyond the LGBTQI+ community. International exchange activities support mutual learning and long-term collaboration. By empowering key opinion leaders and strengthening cross-sector solidarity, the project promotes civic engagement, democratic values, and human rights through cultural expression.
