Six higher education institutions granted support for the implementation of SAYP 2023

The Swedish Institute Academy for Young Professionals (SAYP) is a program aimed to strengthen capacity in public administration in two regions: the Baltic Sea region and the EU's Eastern Partnership countries, and the Western Balkan countries. The overall theme of the education program is modern sustainable governance. The program responds to common challenges in making state governance more transparent, efficient, sustainable and inclusive.

The Swedish Institute received applications from 6 higher education institutions proposing 7 different programmes. Each higher education institution had one programme approved and the following will programmes will make up this years SAYP:

SAYP Baltic Sea Region and Eastern Partnership Countries 

  • Gothenburg university, Migration and Integration: Challenges and Good Practices for the Development of Inclusive Societies 
  • Linköping university, Sustainable e-Government: Resilience, Innovation, and Democracy 
  • Lund university, Perspectives on Multi-level governance, Decentralisation and Human Rights 
  • Malmö university, Sustainable Public Management 
  • Södertörn university, Cooperation Beyond Borders – Transnational Public Administration and Organizing (TPAO) 

 SAYP Western Balkan 

  • Gothenburg University, Migration and Integration: Challenges and Good Practices for the Development of Inclusive Societies 
  • Halmstad University, Collaborative Governance in a Digital Era 
  • Linköping University, Sustainable e-Government: Resilience, Innovation, and Democracy 
  • Lund University, Perspectives on Multi-level governance, Decentralisation and Human Rights 

The total budget awarded for SAYP 2023 amounts to SEK 16.9 million.
