This autumn, 300 SI and Sweden alumni from all over world are expected to have been professionally boosted. In total 22 alumni groups in as many countries all over the world got their applications approved and have been spending the summer and the coming fall to boost the capacity of their alumni community. This through for example leadership courses and workshops on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and career development.
– The idea of the boost is for the alumni community themselves to identify an area of interest that they want to be strengthened in and find a provider locally that matches that need, says the SI Alumni team. So far it has been really successful and apricated by the alumni.
One example of a Capacity Boost is a workshop in Albania by the Sweden Alumni Network Western Balkans titled “Empowering Corporate Social Responsibility” carried out by Barleti University Training and Testing Center. It aimed to enhance the understanding and implementation of CSR among Albanian professionals. The event featured expert speakers who provided insights into strategic management, innovation, and the integration of CSR with business goals. The 13 alumni participating engaged in interactive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities to foster collaboration and share best practices in CSR.
-The workshop successfully elevated our understanding of CSR principles, demonstrated through interactive sessions and feedback. It effectively engaged alumni in discussions, opening the way for new partnerships between businesses, NGOs with the Swedish Embassy as a mediator. Also practical tools and insights were well-received, with participants expressing readiness to implement CSR strategies in their organizations, says one of the organisers SI Alumni Kristian Mucaj.
