Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is for university staff who want to learn more about working with digital communication in China. Participants are expected to either work with Chinese students recruitment or digital communication for students recuirtment, or to plan to do so in the near future. It’s not necessary for participants to actually run the accounts themselves or speak Chinese.
What do we mean by digital communication in China?
It’s about using Chinese social media platforms such as Weibo, WeChat, ZhiHu, QQ and Bilibili to communicate with prospect students and promote universities/institutions. The workshop will not just include content creation e.g. student blogs, social media posts, films and livestreams, but also digital strategy, synergy with offline events in China and campaigns.
What is the goal of the workshop?
Our goal with the workshop is for participants to gain insight in how to better work with digital communication to interact with prospect students and promote their institution or faculty/department in China.
How will the workshop be structured?
The workshop will be interactive, ~4 hours long, led by the Swedish Institute and the course will feature a mix of lecturing, time for group discussions, discussing common problems and sharing good practices. It will be followed by an one and half hour meeting for relevant participants to prepare for the Study in Sweden recruitment events autumn 2019 in China.
Is there a fee?
We charge SEK 500 per participant to cover mainly cost of the venue and lunch.
