Open-air cinema #2: My Skinny Sister by Sanna Lenken

At the end of the summer, the Institut Suédois opens the gates of the Hôtel de Marle garden for a weekend, presenting two film sessions under the stars. Bring a cushion or a blanket if you like; if not, the grass is yours to sit on.

Stella, a chubby twelve-year-old who is not very athletic, wants to be like her big sister Katja whom everyone admires. But when Katja discovers her sister’s secret, their relationship will be transformed.
A tender, subtle drama acted with great talent and mutual sensitivity by the two young actors, My Skinny Sister is a portrait of a teenager coping with her big sister’s anorexia, revealing the devastating effects of the disorder on her, her body and her family.

Length: 1h 35m; drama, 2015; in Swedish with French subtitles; original title: Min Lilla Syster.

Admission free while space lasts.
Entrance through garden gates at 10, rue Elzévir at 8.30 pm.
