The Swedish Institute scholarship for Global Professionals includes all of SI’s previous scholarships on Masters level and is open for citizens from 42 countries for the call of 2021. The scholarship programme is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the overall aim to contribute to a sustainable global development. 

SI has previously advertised the scholarships in separate calls under various names e.g. Visby Programme, Swedish-Turkish Programme. The common name Global Professionals highlights the shift towards applicants with a strong professional background and aim to contribute to a sustainable global development. SI will focus more strategically on this target group and increase the knowledge of our programme in the eligible countries.

Global Professionals offers scholarship recipients to spend one or two years in Sweden studying on a master’s level at various Swedish universitiesIn the call of 2021, we have about 350 scholarships available.  

SI also offers the scholarship holders access to SI Network for Future Global Leaders where we aim to build strong and lasting relationships focusing on leadership activities.   

Facts 

The call of Global Professionals opens on 8 February 2021. However, the applicants must first apply for a master’s programme at universityadmissions.se before 15 January 2021.   

Eligibility criteria among others focuses on work experience and leadership experience which together with the master’s studies in Sweden will lead to better possibility to contribute to the goals of the programme, sustainable global development.
