Media visit: LGBTQ-rights and Stockholm Pride

The Swedish Institute continues to conduct journalist visits on HBTQ issues. During Stockholm Pride, August 1-5, 2018, nine international journalists are welcomed to a program in Sweden.
Stockholm Pride is Northern Europes largest Pridefestival and strives to bring awarness around hbtq issues. It takes place every year in late july/ early august and the final parade attracts 30-40 000 participants and ten times more come to watch it. Photo: Ola Ericson/imagebank.sweden.se

The journalists will visit among others the world’s first elderly home for LGBTQ-people, RFSL, RFSU, meet activists, rainbow families and proud parents of LGBTQ-people, as well institutions working against discrimination and the Swedish Church which since 2009 marries people of the same sex.

The participant journalists come from Albania, Latvia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Russia, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan and Romania.
