The project aims to gather representatives of Turkish academia and media for a workshop on the situation for academic freedom in the country and how the issue is covered in the public debate and in the press.

An important focus will be the relationship between academic freedom and free and independent media as well as the importance of transparency at educational institutions. A report will be published with suggestions on how to strengthen and guarantee academic freedom in Turkey.
