ASHTAR International Youth Theatre Festival is a unique opportunity for youth, who are studying theatre or just started their profession, to come together to learn and develop their skills to become agents of social change and enhance their activism.
Through a Fest-Camp style, a number of youth will live a full week experience of intensive training about social theatre, human rights debates, freedom of speech conference, and performances to the public with plays that tackle political and social theatre issues. The festival also permits a creative dialogue between youth and professional mentors, to develop new artistic collaborations, enhance youth creativity and community engagement.
