The Baltic 2030 project concerns the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the Baltic Sea region.
The UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development covers a vast number of fields such as poverty, hunger, agriculture and equality. The complexity of the development goals requires decision-making and actions across borders and sectors. The European Commission has encouraged regional partnerships to turn the SDGs into strategies and policies.
The Baltic 2030 project will establish a partnership where NGOs, researchers and entrepreneurs can exchange knowledge and best practices. The goal is to initiate a dialogue between various stakeholders in the region to promote the implementation of the SDGs in the Baltic Sea region. Another goal is to increase the awareness about the SDGs, not only among decision makers, but among the general public. Facts and knowledge will be gathered and shared through seminars. This information will also be used to create an online learning platform about the SDGs in the Baltic Sea region.
