The aim of the project is to develop a network between academia and actors in the private and public sectors to share experiences and boost the development of biogas solutions.
Climate change and other global changes have led to an increasing focus in Europe on renewable energy and fertilizers supply. Anaerobic digestion of biomass can contribute to both, delivering biomethane and digestate as biofertilizer/soil improver.
As results of the project, participants have gained knowledge of how to increase the use of digestate as safe biofertilizers to substitute mineral fertilizers, and the potential use of biofertilizers for soil bioremediation in the Baltic Sea region and they have built a network and joint platform for solving problems in the biogas sector.
