The project aims to accelerate AI adoption among SMEs in the Baltic Sea region by developing a concept for a Baltic AI Center that supports industrial digitalization through knowledge-sharing, stakeholder engagement, and funding strategies.
Despite strong innovation ecosystems in Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland, SMEs face barriers such as fragmented support structures, limited expertise, and unclear funding pathways. These challenges hinder their ability to benefit from digital transformation implement AI solutions.
The project brings together science parks and innovation hubs to co-develop a transnational support model tailored to SME needs. Activities include capacity-building workshops, stakeholder consultations, and the design of a sustainable AI center structure. The project also maps EU funding opportunities and prepares a joint application for a larger EU initiative. This approach strengthens regional competitiveness and lays the groundwork for long-term AI-driven industrial growth in the Baltic Sea region.
