The BSLP project addresses issues related to labour and employment. The base for the project is an existing network called the Baltic Sea Labour Forum.
Labour markets are changing due to more efficient and less labour intense production processes in the industries. In addition to this, life expectancy is rising and employment patterns are changing. There are many reasons to raise concerns about the labour markets in the Baltic Sea region according to the BSLP project. Among other things, the project stresses the importance of having the opportunity to get jobs in neighbouring countries. The project therefore aims to remove hindrances on the labour markets in the region. Furthermore, it calls for better synergies between education and demands for employment.
To this background, the project wants to update and restore the work of the already existing network: the Baltic Sea Labour Forum. The project wants to ensure the sustainability of the forum. It wants to facilitate contacts in the region between labour market organisations, authorities and research institutes. In order to improve the structure of the forum, the project will create working groups and let each group write an action plan with clear goals and activities. It also plans to establish a dedicated task force.
