The project deals with civil protection and aims to increase the cooperation between institutions and practitioners related to societal security in the Baltic Sea region.
There are a lot of research activities related to civil security, both in technical and social sciences. Yet, there is no standard mechanism for exploiting the results from these studies. As a consequence, the results from extensive research projects are not used by practitioners to a satisfactory extent. Neither is there a standardized mechanism for research institutions to exchange data and results, which holds back good innovative processes where results from one study can be picked up and used by others. This project aims to fill these gaps by establishing a formalized partnership, consisting of research institutions in the participating countries.
The project will connect research institutions closer to each other and establish a standardized mechanism for research results in the field of civil security. It also wants to make research results available to practitioners. In a broader perspective, the network will function as a research base in the Baltic Sea region, to foster a common societal security culture, where safety and security are highly prioritized.
