The project focuses on spatial planning in the Baltic Sea region. In order to collect fresh ideas about the region’s future, the project will arrange a Young Planners Contest.
Spatial planning cultures, norms and values are diverse in the Baltic Sea region. The project stresses that it is necessary to reach mutual understanding of joint challenges across the region and tolerance of different viewpoints. There is a need for a common platform to exchange ideas on new approaches and methods of spatial planning. The project partnership wants young experts to contribute with creative, innovative and out of the box-ideas to long-term challenges in the region. The aim is to, through a competition, collect new ideas and enhance the perspectives of the younger generation on spatial planning. In a broader sense, the project addresses the issue of competitiveness and territorial coherence in the Baltic Sea region.
The main activity of the project is a summer camp, which is where the contributions of the competition will be presented. Participants will be students but also young practitioners of spatial planning from ten countries in the Baltic Sea region.
