The BSRWood project is about sustainability via wood construction in the Baltic Sea region. It will focus on knowledge exchange across the borders.
BSRWood stresses that wood construction is an effective way to cut emissions and capture carbon. There are also other advantages, such as low construction costs, low weight and thermal insulation. Therefore, a fast expansion of the sector brings substantial opportunities to the Baltic Sea region, where there are many competitive advantages in terms of availability, tradition and technologies. The BSRWood project argues that the industry will benefit from increased cooperation in the region. It particularly mentions technology innovations, environmental practices, and quality and safety standards.
The project wants to bring the partners together and boost cooperation. The goal is to transfer knowledge and develop skills in innovative technologies to cut emissions. The activities include a study tour, workshops to explore the role of governance, business and research opportunities, and creation of a pilot educational module.
