CECO; Creative solutions for circular, resource efficient and bio-based economy

The project deals with bio-based economy solutions in the Baltic Sea region.

The overall objective of the project is to create a circular and bio-based economy in the Baltic Sea region. The circular economy should be based on three principles: design out waste and pollution, keep products and materials in use, and regenerate natural systems. In short, how can we make use of our resources in the most effective way, or recycle them? The CECO project argues that the development towards such an economy is not fast enough. The energy sector is too integrated into the rest of society and it is necessary to create new solutions that incorporate different sectors in a joint system.

One of the main activities of the project is a three-day “test camp” where participants from each country will attend lectures, workshops, study visits, etc. The participants at the should come up with new creative ideas for a circular and bio-based economy, and further develop the concept of the camp for upcoming events. They will define a concept that can be used in all the participating countries, and the project partners will be “certified” to use the concept.
