The project aims to combat discrimination against non-normative people in the MENA region through developing media advocacy efforts, expanding the network of activists and raising awareness around gender and sexual rights. The project builds on the previous SI-funded project which resulted in the creation of the Al-Sanabel regional feminist network. Through this project, we will (1) build the capacity of network members as change agents, (2) use cultural expression to campaign jointly as a network, (3) create resources and material, including a dictionary and a toolkit as guides for LGBTQ rights work in the region and (4) start to build an institutional memory.
