In Ethiopia and Uganda, freedom of expression and space for civil society are severely limited. Journalists/bloggers have been imprisoned or forced into exile. This project will address these circumstances. It will focus on human rights in a context acceptable to governments, and thus build capacity and confidence in journalists reporting on human rights, while also widening the space for freedom of expression and democracy.
