Tackling substance abuse in Kenya requires joint multi-sectoral efforts. Governmental, non-governmental, private sector organizations, and individuals are all key stakeholders in addressing and mitigating the social causes and effects of substance abuse. However, in Kenya most of the focus in prevention is directed at children under 18. Treatment, on the other hand, is focused mainly on adult addicts, ignoring prevention. The project will bring together prevention and treatment actors in 3 regions of Kenya to promote synergised interventions. This will allow for more integrated and sustainable strategies for prevention and treatment for both groups in the future.
