By creating new partnerships and increasing the capacity of faith actors (with different religious belief) this project will help to strengthen the protection of human rights and the environment in communities affected by mining in north Tanzania. People in and around these communities are mostly engaged in crop and livestock production and the influx of mining activities has strained local ecosystems and encroached on traditional lands, disrupting livelihoods and cultural ties. Swedwatch, Act Church of Sweden and FECCLAHA see a great opportunity in engaging influential faith actors in advocating for social an economic justice for the community members.
