DIGICURE: Digital Cultural Resilience and Protection

The project aims to establish a training programme and a Centre of Excellence in Kyiv in digital heritage documentation for critical data collection and preservation of threatened cultural heritage.

A challenge facing Ukraine and European allies after the war is rebuilding. As has been demonstrated in recent times, having access to digital documentation of a high quality for rehabilitation and reconstruction of built heritage greatly eases this burden.

Protection and preservation of cultural heritage is a part of the national strategy of Ukraine, and though the sector lacks the required skills, digitisation is seen as one of the primary means through which to achieve this. Activities include a conference, online seminars, training programmes for managers of reconstruction through a training of trainers concept, where best practices can be adopted from European partners.
