The aim of the project is to advocate for Paris Agreement targets and to impact climate policies so that they address the need for adaptation in a corridor from the Baltic to the Black Sea, and mediate ocean acidification.
In the region covered by the project, a temperature increase of 5–8 degrees is possible, causing severe damage. The project will work to better understand the consequences, to make societies aware, and to evaluate as well as influence adaptation options, with focus on aquatic systems.
Among the project activities are to provide information on governance instruments relating to existing adaptation measures for the entire corridor and make recommendations for the future. It will also include to undertake advocacy towards policy makers on needs to improve adaptation policies.
