The aim of the project is to strengthen the competence of Ukrainian PhD students and younger researchers to create the necessary conditions for the future reconstruction of Ukraine. The project will address urgent environmental challenges, enhancing research capabilities, and fostering international cooperation, mitigating the adverse environmental impacts of war and industrial pollution in Ukraine.
The pressing issue at hand is the extensive military and technogenic pollution of water and soil, resulting from Russia´s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Young researchers and their supervisors will require access to safe and contemporary research infrastructure and tools to complete their PhD studies and research projects successfully. Researchers will be equipped with knowledge about sustainable methods and materials for remediating water and soil pollution caused by heavy metals and organic pollutant. Through the project, they will gain experience working in an international environment, improving their foreign language proficiency and intercultural skills.
