The aim of the project is to support the Ukrainian media’s ability to continue their independent reporting during the war and to come out of it stronger. It will make media managers better equipped to lead their news organisations, provide quality journalism to the public, ensure access to information and contribute to accountability.
Media in Ukraine works under difficult constraints to serve the mission of providing the population with information and holding power to account. Challenges include staff turnover, distribution issues, a high-risk security situation, a stressful work environment for journalists and Ukrainian media lacking funds to maintain publishing at past levels.
The project will give media managers key skills in management, fundraising and leadership tailored for a crisis. Activities include media management training, networking and peer learning.
