The project challenges outdated, harmful and neo-colonial stereotypes that heavily influence how Africans and the African continent are framed in international media and popular culture. We work with and put the spotlight on 50 female Zanzibari change-makers whose voices and stories will be featured in a coffee table book, a children’s book and a traveling and a permanent photo exhibition. We also use community outreach and media advocacy to create dialogue and change around gender equality
