GREEN BALTIC PLAN: Developing a Green Recovery plan for the Baltic Sea catchment area of Ukraine

The aim of the project is to strengthen civil society’s contribution to the improvement of the Baltic Sea environment through the development of a transboundary water protection expert network. The project also aims to strengthen participating countries capacities and cooperation through drafting a Green Recovery Plan for the Baltic Sea catchment area of Ukraine.

The environmental and social situation caused by the war pose a common challenge for the whole Baltic Sea region since the war causes a significant deterioration of water resources and worsens the quality of groundwater.

Through the project, civil society environmental activists from the Baltic Sea region will help to analyse the impact of the war on the water bodies which belong to the Baltic Sea catchment area and prepare a recovery plan. It will in turn strengthen transboundary civil society cooperation working towards improvement of the Ukrainian and Baltic Sea environment.
