The project aims to strengthen public administration at the local level within urban planning in Pervomaiskyi City Territorial Community. The focus of the project will be on social sustainability.
Since the beginning of the war, the community of Pervomaiskyi has recieved about 15,000 people from other Ukrainan regions, about 3000 of these are children. This is 50 % of the total population of the community, which is a challenge for the urban planning of the municipality. Women are in majority in the society and to obtain social sustainability, gender equality in urban planning needs to be considered. The community needs to temporarily contruct places to live, kindergardens, schools, health care facilities and other infrastructure to meet the populations human rights.
The project aims to help Pervomaiskyi City Territorial Community to make sustainable priorities for their urban development. It also aims to help Ukraine meet the criteria for a membership in the European Union. Project activities include workshops, group discussions and exchange of ideas on urban development planning, after which a needs analysis will be formulated.
