The project aims to create a knowledge exchange with regards to the food supply chain in Ukraine from a sustainability perspective.
Ukraine tackles lots of challenges regarding the food chain. There is a need for recovery, modernisation and training on all levels, from farm to fork to meet market demands. Also, administration needs to be efficient and in support of the development needed. Short- and long-term challenges are many. Short term there is a shortage of available labour that needs to be addressed, possibly through mechanisation. Long term challenges are the EU accession processes.
The project will gather insights and recommendations which could include to establish partnerships between stakeholders, to implement sustainable practices throughout the food supply chain, and to continue knowledge exchange initiatives in the field of sustainability for Ukrainian small and medium enterprises. Additionally, it may involve advocating for policy changes and investments that support long-term sustainability goals within the food supply chain in accordance with EU requirements.
