The PeerNetSE project is about social entrepreneurship in the Baltic Sea region. It will focus on peer learning between social entrepreneurs.
PeerNetSE suggests that the pandemic and climate crisis have increased the need for more sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe. It also notes that social entrepreneurs have an important role to play in this transition. The reason is that they are often able to serve as role models and inspire wider movements for change. However, the support systems for social entrepreneurs often remain fragmented, and there is a general lack of tailored support systems in many partner countries, according to PeerNetSE. The challenges include lack of specialised funding, absence of peer networks and opportunities for long-term capacity building. In view of this, the project will pilot a new transnational network for peer learning between social entrepreneurs in the Baltic Sea region.
The network which will be used for this pilot was set up in 2021. PeerNetSE will develop and improve the network, aiming to improve the members’ knowledge and skills. The activities include recruiting approximately 30 social entrepreneurs, online peer learning sessions, and online expert learning sessions.
