The overarching aim of the project is to improve the cooperation environment for surveying in the Eastern Partnership. It is expected to result in increased knowledge and strenghtened cooperation between professionals.
While surveys play a crucial role in public policymaking, recent events, such as the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Russia-Ukraine war, have led to a growing public reluctance to voice opinions and participate in surveys. Non-response rates are gradually increasing across the societies. Furthermore, social scientists in the Caucasus and the Eastern Partnership generally have limited opportunities to reflect on their shared experiences, challenges, opportunities for cooperation and joint efforts.
The project will be initiated with a large-scale regional online conference aimed at kick-starting a partnership of professional practitioners active in the Eastern Partnership. This initiative, focused on rethinking surveying, will involve compiling a database with their contact information, availability, and other relevant details, ultimately leading to the signing of a partnership agreement. Subsequently, survey professionals will be admitted to thematic training sessions by the project implementing partners. Both the regional online conference and thematic training sessions are designed to foster networking opportunities among survey professionals and other stakeholders.
