The aim of the project is to deepen and further develop cooperation in bio-remedial technologies for sustainable recovery of land, water and air in the Baltic Sea region after environmental catastrophic events.
Environmental pollution through adverse events has become a serious problem in the Baltic Sea region. When, for example floodings occur, they stir up many harmful particles, such as heavy metals, that are then spread on for example agricultural land. These adverse catastrophic events have long term harmful impact on both nature as well as inhabitants living in the affected areas.
Project activities include to raise the awareness among project target groups and stakeholders of innovative phytoremediation solutions to tackle environmental challenges associated with adverse environmental events.
