Project SEESID is about social entrepreneurship in the Baltic Sea region. The idea is to create an educational program for accelerators and incubators.
The foundation of the project is that social entrepreneurship as a concept is important for new businesses and is a means for sustainable development. However, the general understanding of social entrepreneurship in the Baltic Sea region is low. Many countries are facing challenges such as weak local economies and ageing populations. The SEESID project wants to raise the awareness about sustainable entrepreneurship and its role for the prosperity of the Baltic Sea region, locally as well as nationally.
The project plans to create a social entrepreneurship education program for businesses in the Baltic Sea region. It will establish a network of educations and experts in the region. The idea is that the partners of the network will exchange information and experiences, and hence promote more knowledge on social entrepreneurship. Activities include educational trips and meetings. The project also intends to develop common guidelines on how to evaluate social enterprises.
